Admitting I'm on Academic Blog Sabbatical

I was hoping this semester to keep up with this blog especially as I'm excited about the papers I'm working on and a lot of what I'm reading/teaching. But, unfortunately, my schedule (2 grad classes, 1 undergrad class, plus 50% teaching appointment) is barely going to allow me to finish this semester. In fact, I'm getting a little worried about that. So, I'm on blog hiatus.

Next semester I'm planning to teach, but have requested a smaller TA appointment -- this year they suddenly increased everyone's appointments and I'm hoping that was an anomaly since most of us are taking 12 credits so it affects our ability to really work. But I'm taking another undergraduate art history class (pilgrimage!) and two independent studies: one with Sherry Reames most likely on Medieval drama and the other with Jack Niles on historiography from a literary perspective and also "the state of the field" and how it can relate. I'm excited that I should really get to delve into my field without being overwhelmed by work and an unwieldy schedule.

So, look for regular posts starting in late January. I'm hoping to use this as a springboard for my own thoughts on what I'm reading and hopefully your opinions, too.

See you soon!
